SURFACE

SURFACE

Hair is not something that simply adorns the face. It is a surface that changes form as it receives light and shadow.

The contours created through cutting overlap with the body, clothing, color, and graphics. Here, there is no clear boundary between fashion and hair. SURFACE does not present the haircut merely as a style, but as a temporary, sculptural image that emerges on the body. Hair becomes line, becomes shadow, and at times becomes a flat, graphic form. The presence of the individual is once deconstructed and reconstructed into another image.
